The Australian Labradoodle is a hybrid between the poodle, labrador retriever, Irish water dog, curly coated retriever, and American and English cocker spaniel. The miniature goldendoodle is a hybrid between the poodle and golden retriever. They possess what is known as hybrid vigor, making them healthier than any of their parent breeds and reducing the risk of many breed specific diseases by adding differing breed genetics. We do health testing on our breeding dogs to prevent breeding unhealthy parents who would produce unhealthy puppies.
We are more than happy to share the health test results of our dogs. We screen for hips, elbows, cardiac, and patella via OFA, eyes via PRA and CERF, and vWD via DNA or parentage. Both labradoodles and goldendoodles are incredibly social and lovable. They love people, children and adults alike, as well as other animals. It would be a punishment to leave a doodle alone for long periods of time without human contact.
We also encourage you to consider that dogs, like humans, are happiest with a mate, so in their case…another dog. For those times when you are gone longer than you’d like, it would be best for you to have two dogs so they can keep one another company, as well as play together and romp when you are home.
